5 Ways to Reach More People With Your Blog Posts+ FREE Checklist
You put so much effort into writing blog posts to promote your business, but it seems like no one is reading them. How can you get more readers without using ads? Here's a list of 5 ways to reach more people with your blog posts plus a FREE checklist of 16 things you should do before and after you post. This is the EXACT same process I use for my blog posts and clients.
Attract Your Reader
Think about your favorite blog. Doesn't it seem like they know exactly what you were looking for each time you read a post?
They aren't mind-readers or spies. Your favorite blogger is really good at grabbing your attention with a headline that interests you and an image that pulls you in.
I'm not telling you to become an award-winning copywriter. I'm not even going to mention SEO.
I'm going to keep it simple and say to make the Title something that would grab their attention. The image can include a person but doesn't have to.
Just look at Pinterest. It is filled with pins that lead to blog posts that may or may not have pictures of people. You went from Pinterest to the blog because something about that pin grabbed your attention. The images on your blog have to do the same thing. Check out these examples:
I know you're thinking, "I always share my blog posts on IG/FB/Twitter/Pinterest. Why is this point included?"
Yes, most bloggers share their posts on a social media platform. Good bloggers share their posts on all of the social media networks I just listed.
The 6-figure earning bloggers, you want to be when you grow up, share their blog posts several times on several platforms.
The magic word I want you to learn is "re-purpose." A snippet from a blog post can be used as an Instagram post. Each point in your post can be turned into a video. Each video can be a teaser for your blog post.
With how algorithms are set up your Social Media followers may not see your post announcement the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd time you say it. That's why for each post you share it the day you post, the next day, a week after that, 2 weeks after that, a month later and then a month after that. You aren't updating the post each month. You are just bringing more attention to the post over time. Smarterqueue makes it easy for me to share and re-share my posts across these platforms.
Use Video or Podcast to Promote Your Post
Video is king of content right now. Podcast (audio) is a close second.
In your YouTube Video or Podcast episode make sure that you reference a blog post where the viewer/listener can learn more about what you talked about.
This will drive more traffic to your blog overall. You can also promote with video in a bite-sized way with IG Stories and IGTV. In the video, give them just enough info that they want to click through to read your post.
Once they land on your blog they'll binge-read every blog post you have about the topic. This builds a lot of trust with them and builds your level of expertise in their minds.
Free PR (public relations) lesson for the day. :)
Submit Your Post on a Forum
Whether it's Reddit, Bloglovin, Girlboss Community, or a Facebook Group, share your post on a forum.
People on forums are avid readers. They love reading new blog posts. Forums also provide interaction, feedback, and a sense of community. Blogging can be lonely at times, so finding other bloggers can help you stay motivated and inspired.
Also on the forums, more bloggers share a wealth of information that you wouldn't get if you weren't in the forums.
Tell Your List
You'd be amazed by how many more people you reach by actually telling your email list that you have a new blog post.
Yeah, you heard that right.
E-mails aren't just for sales and newsletters. You can share your blog posts with them too.
Why do emails work? Your clients might not be following you on Social Media. And how the algorithm is set up they may be following you, but barely ever see your posts. Or, they may not be subscribed to your blog. But, they are on your email list.
People check their emails multiple times a day. An email from you with a blog post that's relevant to them will catch their attention.
Now that we understand how to reach more people let's put this into action with this checklist. Download yours here.
