How to Make a Mood Board in Photoshop (Tutorial)
Mood Boards are Everywhere! Pinterest and Instagram are flooded with them by brides-to-be, fashion bloggers and graphic designers. Interior designers and other industries use them too.I usually make them during logo and website design projects for inspiration. I make small ones with only a few images for my Instagram story and social media posts sometimes.
What you will need:
- 3 to 5 colors for the color palette
- Tons of Photos - 90% of mine are from Pinterest. Tumblr, Google and UnSplash are also great sources.
- Your logo or URL that way when people share it they get back to your account :)
- A Secret Pinterest board

If you don't have Photoshop, you can always use Canva. Only difference is you can control the resolution of the images in Photoshop and have access to a lot more editing features.
Step 1
Find the Mood Board Template you would like to use. You can buy them from Creative Market, Etsy or a designer OR you can just find a free one from a blogger on Pinterest. To avoid it looking like other people's you may want to invest in a paid board.
Step 2
Figure out what your "mood is". Example phrases would be warm, inviting, sophisticated, luxury, nautical, southern.
Step 3
Think of 3-5 colors you would like to use in your project. Example colors would be Tiffany Blue, Mauve, Lavender, Mint. That way you can find images with those colors.
Step 4

Step 5
Save the photos to a central location. A secret Pinterest board is a great place to store them.
Step 6
Drag and Drop the number of images that you really really like and can fit on the board. Example, if your board has 11 images then you need to save the best 11 to your desktop.
Step 7
Add the images to your Mood Board Template. Depending on the template you can either add them as a clipping mask or as a smart object.
Step 8
Add your logo to the finished board and export as a .PNG or JPG.You did it!Disclaimer: You may become addicted to mood boards! You may want to use them for your next interior design project or e-mail blast.Did you find this helpful? Thanks for stopping by!Best,
