How to Set Up a Business Facebook Page - in 2024
So you’re ready to set up your new Business Facebook Page? Let's do it!
The whole process takes about 30 minutes if you gather the few items you need beforehand. Here’s what you need before we get started:
Facebook Account - No one will know you are the admin unless you tell them.
Logo
Website
Business Number (a Google Voice number is preferred)
Facebook Cover
Avatar (can use logo)
Slogan/Tagline
Short bio/Description
Pick your Category This is crucial. If you are a Real Estate Broker, choose that and not an Interior Designer. It seems obvious, but you'd be shocked how many business pages use the wrong category.
Add Your Contact Info If you don't want people calling your personal cell phone, I recommend setting up a Google Voice number. It's free and easy to set up. Make sure your e-mail address and domain name (website name) are spelled correctly. You’d hate for a potential customer to misspell your website name and buy from your competitor instead.
Write a Description of What You Do Write a good 1-3 sentences explaining in the simplest terms what your product or service is. Don't tell them how just tell them what 😊 The best thing about this is that you can update it at any time, and you can even use your slogan if you want.
Upload your Facebook Cover and Avatar Even if you don't have any posts ready, you need a cover photo and an avatar. For the avatar, you can use your logo or a team member's face. Why a face? People like people. Your potential clients connect with a face more than they connect with a logo.
For the cover, put some effort into it. You may want to use Canva or get a designer to help you. You can include contact info or just your company name and slogan. It's completely up to you.
Pro Tips for Today’s Facebook Business Page Setup:
Try to use keywords your customers use when looking for a business like yours. Use it in your Page Name, Bio, Description, and posts.
Add your services to the services section to clearly showcase what you offer.
If you have an online store, connect it to your Facebook page. Remember to connect your Instagram shopping too so whenever new products are added, they show up on both and the little shopping bag appears on the post.
Aim to have at least 3-5 posts within a week so it shows Facebook you are active.
Enable Messenger features to provide quick and personalized responses to your customers. You can set up automated responses for common questions, which will save you time.
Customize Your Call-to-Action Button Facebook allows you to add a call-to-action (CTA) button on your page, like "Contact Us," "Shop Now," or "Sign Up." Choose the one that aligns best with your business goals and make it easy for your audience to take action.
Yay! You did it! 🎉 You just set up your Facebook Business Page. Now you can start inviting your family and friends to like your page! You can also start letting the Facebook World know all about your business from your business account!
